About Us

MISSION STATEMENT
Our Mission is:
LOVE GOD
LEARN CHRIST'S WAYS
SERVE OTHERS
Always for Christ's Glory

WHAT WE BELIEVE:
First United Methodist Church of Gaylord exists under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God from Old Testament to
New Testament, contains all truth necessary for salvation, and holds primary authority in our lives.
We adhere to the historic, apostolic teachings of Christianity, seeking to preserve, proclaim, and live out “the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people.” (Jude 1:3). We affirm both the Nicene Creed and the Apostles’ Creed.
First United Methodist Church of Gaylord stands in the Wesleyan/Methodist tradition and values the authority of Scripture, Spirit-filled living, serving in and outside the church, worshipping in Spirit and in truth, and committing to small groups for relational discipleship, accountability, and sanctification through the power of the Holy Spirit.
We believe the mandate for the global Church today is the Great Commission given by Jesus prior to His ascension: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20).
